That's what I was thinking I know its national league but he's scored 30 goals so far, could be step up I don't know a lot about him.
Funny he should appear again on here as I was outside their ground at about 1.30 this afternoon. I had already decided against driving down to Oakwell today (BIG MISTAKE...HUGE!!) and was at the Vangarde shopping centre doing a spot of M&S food shopping before getting back home for our match on iFollow. There were loads of York fans milling about and I was half tempted to join them as the ground is literally across the car park from M&S and I have yet to go inside it since coming to live here a year and a half ago. Had it not been such a hot day and the fact that I had bought frozen and chilled food I might just have gone for a ticket to the York v Aldershot match but no - I had to go home. Oli Pearce got a hat trick for them in a 7-2 victory and they are sitting just behind Barnet at the top of their league. I really hope they go back to the EFL in the summer because I've always had a soft spot for the Minstermen.
I think his age would be the biggest thing against him, but if he's available cheap he may be worth a punt. Trouble is everyone wants the next Vardy, Kone etc from non league, if he is cheap, others will be looking.
Kone is 21 years old though, was worth a punt. Pearce is 29 and has only played at non league level, his goal record over these last 3 seasons is great, but why has no league club took a gamble on him before?
185 goals in under 300 games in last 7 seasons puts their record's to shame and is a poor comparison attempt.
The thing is money. we have little or none according to reports from within. Wycombe turned down big numbers from Luton in January for Kone.
I'm not on about his age mate, just countering his argument. Personally, I think hes worth a punt as he will cost pennies in todays markets, but certainly not at the expense of our main targets if it comes to that.
