    I've crunched the numbers and looked at the trends and these were my findings...

    TRENDS

    Winners are statistically in the following categories.

    - Aged 25-35
    - Top 25 world ranking
    - Has already won an event this year
    - Has placed in the top 10 at Augusta within the last 5 years
    - Ranked in the top 10% in driving distance on Tour
    - Ranked in the top 10% in scrambling on Tour

    The following players appear the most....

    Rory McIlroy - 6s
    Brooks Koepka - 25s
    Russell Henry - 33s
    Min Woo Lee - 35s
    Sepp Strana - 45s

    It should be noted that have only ever been 3 back to back winners - Nicklaus, Faldo and Woods.

    Good long putt to save par for Bryson on the 11th. I am happy with his performance so far despite a couple of bogeys.

    I'd like to see Rose do it.
    He looked so focussed on day 1. Will be a top, top effort to maintain that.
    Scheffler ominously poised, serial winner. McIlroy needs to come out all guns blazing.
    Tyrell Hatton very relaxed. Not really a betting man but if he has a good round today I might be reopening my online account and depositing 10 bob.

    I followed him round a few holes at Birkdale in 98.
    He was an amateur and aged 17 at the time and looked a serious threat for a few holes.

    He turned pro soon after
