Who will buy DKD and Phillips and how much will we get for them?

I totally agree Brian, I just wish the club had shown a little more back bone too and shown more support to Clarke.

Joking aside, the club should resist offers for the 'best' players (DKD) in particular. We are so far down the rabbit hole now that further weakening of the squad is inconceivable to anyone with commonsense. The close season should be about strengthening through good recruitment (yes, its Sormaz) not weakening and depleting. Get rid of the deadwood and see out contracts of the dross if at all possible. If they sell DKD they're short-term idiots. It has to be stabilising and rebuilding. Dont sell unless its absolutely stupid money offered.

But the chairmans already stated the best players WILL be sold in the summer no if's no buts the best players WILL be sold. God knows what the squad will look like come August with Sormaz in charge of recruitment probably 2 keepers , 22 right wingers and 1 left winger for a balanced squad, all french or American of course.

 

If you listen to the interview he doesn't mention "the best players will be sold"He does say in the recent past Barnsley have held on to players in the attempt to get promotion.This summer we'll revert back to selling some players putting money in and reinvesting in the squad.

 

Phillips will end up at Millwall. £1 million.

DKD will end up at Bolton. £1.6 million.

 

Unless you know something I would respectfully expect 2 million for Phillips and at least 3 million for DKD,not that I expect DKD to be sold.

If we’re told that players need to be sold I can’t see beyond DKD and Phillips. They’re the only two saleable assets we have. Connell at a push I suppose but his value has plummeted after a poor season. There’s no one else at all who would raise any serious amount of cash.

 

You might be right but there always a transfer market for every player.I still believe the club will not sell certain players for peanuts.

 

We got 3 million for Mads on a 1 year contract and nearly 5 for Kitching. You can't accuse this board of selling cheap - I don't think they'll start now.
