Has as been the case for the last 10 or so years, despite sections of our fan base deploring the club not to 'sell the crown jewells' every transfer window. The more pressing question for me is, who will we replace any sold players with? Being a selling club doesn't mean you can't be successful. That being said, you'd hope we'd make every effort to keep DKD at the club, unless a Liam Kitching-esque batshit offer came in. Selling Phillips and Connell, and letting allegedly the last of the big earners in Benson go, could be the catalyst to stop the rot, have a clear out and move forward. Permitting the 'recruitment team' have a better window of course, which is currently the biggest concern for me.
Every club is a selling club thats why theres a transfer market.DKD won't be sold unless its a silly offer no league one club could turn down. Football must be the only industry where every club is run while in debt. Our debt isn't as big as most clubs so we'll keep the players we need and add to the squad when the new mans in place.Theres always exceptions but no player will leave on the cheap. This season promised so much and up to January we were on course for the playoffs then we hit a bad run of form which we couldn't get out of.Its not a new thing lots of clubs hit the rocks from time to time. Personally I'm quite excited by the challenge we face next year. With a new coach and a few tweaks here and there I fully expect us to be competing for a place back in the Championship. I know some on this board won't agree and thats fine but in my view supporting a club is about ups and downs and its during the downs the fans are needed to show some back bone and not wave the white flag. The good times will be back.
Connell.. meh One good season out of three.. Blame injuries or what you want but you only get peanuts for him.. low hundreds at best. Jala needs to show both fitness and consistency to be worth owt so no money there. Both DKD and Phillips combined no more than 4 million.. I'm sure if we were offered 1n half for Phillips and Two n half for DKD they'd be gone.. And that's it, Russell Watters MDG Earl.. at present of no worth.. only maybe to give away dirt cheap/free to a good home kind of thing, just to lower the wage bill.. And the rest are worthless Big problems ahead.. no money to sign new players and those from the academy not up to standard as we seen in the paint pot cup games .. Maybe a couple with a chance Bland and Yoganathan Shepherd coming back also.. all should feature next season plus Dyer But without investment in the first team then we're going to be scraping about with frees and loans.. One hope in the short term would be to get a head coach in who as a history of getting good loans in. A Grant McCann or Darren Moore type who other clubs trust with their players..
Get your tin hat ready from the; Sormaz out crew Take off your rose tinted glasses crew Nareev out crew Don’t like JAQ crew Teles aren’t turned on crew I hate all things BFC crew I’ll be pushing the trolley with our lass on a Saturday next season crew If I’ve missed any crews hit me up
A low end championship team with more debt than sense will come in for Phillips. Although I suspect we won’t get 7 figures for him. I think reading between the lines he’s halfway out of the door already. I hope a few quid for him and a reduction of the wage bill means we don’t have to sell DKD. Let’s face it without him we just have no hope whatsoever. Obviously if someone waves summat like £4m at us we have to take it. But if that is the case can we PLEASE use the money to get in 3 decent, established, plug in and play lads who are ready for first team football immediately? Rather than 10 scattergun punts in the hope a couple of them work out!
I admire your optimism, I really do. I’ll still be renewing but I honestly fear for us in the next couple of years. It’s sad to think that gates are about to plummet and it feels like we’re at a crossroads as a club. Which way will we go? With the current set up I can’t help thinking the direction is downwards. Big changes are needed at the top.
Aye.. your red tinted glasses are on over-time today.. especially with your white flag and backbone jibe.. If you still support and back incompetence.. then you'll keep getting the same thing. Unless it's called out for what it is, it will not change. Because has we saw with Neerav' cron statement everyone's doing a spiffing job and it's not us but everyone else especially the head coachs but we got rid of both them.. (who we employed in the first place) so ra ra for us.. The first step in any redemption is seeing your own failings.. We have yet to even make that first step.
Be lucky to get £4 Million for Connell Phillips and DKD combined may possibly get a bit of interest in Jalo but £500 - £750 thousand is all we are likely to get if one of the top end championship lower end premier League clubs fancies a gamble after those expect nothing to a few quid for anybody else and we will have sold our best players and be left with a failing DoF and recruitment team importing yet more dross into an all ready poor and further weakened squad which will in all likelihood he coached by coaches who haven't been able to get a tune out of this year's squad. Mess doesn't even begin to describe the situation we are faced with.
Like I said its my opinion.I sometimes feel that the BBS are trying to outdo each other on who dislikes anything BFC related more than the next person. Deep down I believe that we all want success for the club that also includes those who own and run the club.I'm also prepared to back them through rocky times not only when were thriving. As for the "red tinted glasses jibe" give over its called having an opinion and if mines more cheery than yours fair enough we can't all be the same. I've got my season ticket,I've got my Callum Simpson ticket and I'm going to have a hour in the garden before my dinner. You see life isn't always black.
Agree. Unless Neerav wakes up and smells the coffee we're on a one-way trip to nowhere. I find his naivety astounding, I really thought he was better than that.
