Absolutely powder puff' we are crying out for a couple of big no nonsense bruisers' mdg and mccarthy are proper push overs and Roberts legs have gone.
Despite the result. A much improved performance than over the last few weeks. Disgraceful refereeing re the sending off. Most, if not all, at the game in agreement, saw commitment and more creation on the pitch. And a totally unreflective scoreline.
You really didn't take much notice of today's game did you? Red card on 3 mins, had to make a tactical sub on 8 mins...daren't make another one too early because Flavell looked for a long time that he would be going off, played a 53 min first half, then made his first unforced sub on 72 minutes when the score was only 3-2 and we were still in the game.
My thoughts on today was that we were fantastic first half given we had a terrible decision against us on two minutes.....so 90 odd minutes against the multi, multi millionaire players and run away leaders was going to be very hard. I'm not going to over react to today's result as its the same thoughts I've had for ages....we have poor players, I mean really poor players. I'm not convinced many coaches will get a tune out of them.....but we all know Connor will get the gig....when he does I hope he has the brass cahoonies to say .....do you know what? we need to change 5..3..2...no one plays it anymore and if your intention is to sell players we need players here who play a system thats more of a saleable asset (that's what I'd insist anyway) let's 4...3..2...1 or whatever but these players and this system...just no. Then let the clear out and re set commence...next year will be another transition but by the sweet lord we have players here who just cannot be coached. Still seething about the sending off (who gets sent off on 2 minutes....like ever) but Im mixed today...at least we tried...but we are way off with these players...good luck Conor, your gonna need it.
I'd agree with that mate but it wasn't a suprise when we unraveled. The game did show how vital it is to have a goalscoring striker.
Thought Humphrys and O'Keefe played well today. Roberts OK as well. Game ruined by an early mistaken sending off (although at first watch I thought the ref was bound to do it). Shouldn't read too much into today.
It’s the other 4 games we have also struggled in that concerns me more against teams in the bottom third tbh.
I refereed at various levels for 25 years. I have no idea how the referee today saw that as a red card in the first few minutes. Way out on the touch line with little danger on the goal when the incident occurs . Certainly worth appealing against that decision.
O'Keefe had a better game (by his standards) today, still almost cost us a goal with his terrible back pass. Humps was a handful and probably should have done better with his attempted lob.
Battled really well first half. Shocking second half. Awful decision for the red card. If that’s a foul and red card then there should be hundreds of penalties and reds every weekend up and down the football league.
Hourihane has already come out and said he thinks it’s a red. They won’t appeal it. It costs about five grand to do it apparently.
So they can do it but have decided not to in most matches this season. I'm sorry but has far as I'm concerned 90% of the senior pros don't deserve to be in a red shirt next season and the other 10% will probably be sold in the summer.
