I agree best to leave there, you think holding Sormaz accountable is best, I think it should be Neerav(that may include sacking Sormaz). We both want same thing just differing opinions on how to do. All the best
Too much budget wasted on paying wages to too many sub standard players, probably the largest squad in L1, if not certainly up there. We will need to shed every player out of contract at the end of this season to be able to pay wages to incoming player ( assuming we get them free or cheap) All loan players out and Shepard/ Lopata/ Lofthouse brought back as they appear to be performing better than what we have. Importantly appoint a Coach to run the team not as a puppet. Sell Mael if he's got any contract left and don't extend Humphreys which I believe is an option. I'd also scrap the Academy but we've discussed this before. Biggest saving though without a shadow of a doubt is sack Sormez cos ya just might save the club.
While the above may be true the fact is the Chairman did employ the DoF and gave him his role and responsibilities so the bucks stops with the chairman. He's employed a man who appears to be incapable of carrying out the role given to him successfully, everybody can see the problems everybody can see the mistakes well everybody except the chairman who continues to ignore the evidence writ large on the Oakwell turf since Somaz was appointed. For me both are culpable Somaz for the mess he created and the chairman for giving him the opportunity and tools to make that mess and allowing it to continue despite all the evidence available to him. The chairman needs somebody who can cut through the ******** that he seems to accept without question because at the moment the chairman is making the old racists trope that South Asians know nothing about football look like a statement of fact not a racists lie.
Completely agree. The guy is wasting money all the time. 'Give me another million and I'll buy two more players who aren't very good but who will bloat the squad and increase wage costs. Then we can sack the next manager and pretend its his fault'.
You're right to suggest its not just Mladen but I think your point has been addressed. I did it myself. Yes, Neerav has culpability, but Sormaz is the one wasting the money. It's that straightforward. Until Sormaz goes it almost certainly won't improve. Neerav takes the blame to a point but its Sormaz wasting millions and if the same Sormaz is spinning Neerav a tale about xg, xgirlfriend, xpat or anything else then Sormaz is also a snake-oil merchant because he knows Neerav is naive. Its Sormaz. Bottom line.
But if Sormaz is doing all that as his boss Neerav he is ultimately responsible and accountable to act on it. Equally if he is actually doing what Neerav is wanting him to do he is responsible and accountable. Bottom line the only person that can answer or change it is Neerav.
You can't win with our fans!! Hourihane disciplines players and talks about it on the radio, and he is criticised. Do it behind closed doors they say and protect publicly. The chairman may have slaughtered the DoF in private but stuck up for him in public. Just a thought.
Why on earth would you publicly criticise the 2nd biggest asset at the club and privately slaughter someone who has the most important role at the club with regards how the first team performs on the pitch? If he didn’t believe in him he’d be sacked.
