Home -only better than the bottom 4 clubs
Away -only worse than the top 3 clubs-surely a coaching issue???

Look at those defeats adding up away though mate. Still chance to lose more than we’ve won the way we’re going.

When I last looked at the Home tables for The Championship, League One, and League Two, only Plymouth Argyle had conceded more home goals than Barnsley.

If it’s down to coaching surely it would be across the board not significantly swing?
It would suggest to me it’s more a tactics/ability.

I think it’s fairly obvious it’s not coaching, it’s player mentality and also squad imbalance.

Squad Mentality because it’s in their heads which compounds everything, and was the same last season.

Squad Imbalance because we have a squad who cannot break teams down in the final 3rd, or certainly not at pace anyway.

Away teams come to Oakwell to sit back a bit and let us play our thing. Which is why we have a high possession percentage. Then they hit us on the break. And this has been successful - and applies more pressure on our back 3, as they’re often exposed. We don’t have enough to break down their deep positions. Kane, Cole and Jordan Williams when out wide largely helped last season with their drive and ability to break it down. We don’t have that now.

When we’re away, the home team is expected to push forward more and therefore leave the gaps at the back which we then find easier to exploit, and have clearly have done.

If we had a couple of players who could exploit the final 3rd, and at pace, then home results would improve and then the mentality issue would improve. It’s why Jon Lewis was signed - pace and directness. It’s also why Jalo has been missed as he would have filled this gap too.

In all competitions, no other football league side has conceded more home goals than us...

Plymouth have conceded 34 at home.

Ignore. Just noticed you said all competitions, apologies.
