Football isn’t about one or the other. It’s about getting it right in all areas of the game and being better than the rest. We need to score goals, stop goals, control the ball, be physical and technical. We need a squad to be able to do that for 100 mins, every game. Mentally switched on, balanced collectively and have the football intelligence to execute. Our coach has to make this happen and the DOF is to give him/her the tools to do so. Any weaknesses in the chain mean mid table, more weaknesses than the rest means relegation. So getting one thing right doesn’t win the league but it could get us relegated.
Attacking, defending, goalkeeping, set peices, fitness id imagine mate, in a broad sense. Clubs even have coaches for defensive set pieces, attacking set peices, throw ins, specific heading coaches. Its a bit mental but im fine with the amount we have, each having a specific role - as I say, it's the competency I question
