Was it his ACL when Micheal Brown crocked him and we brought on Vaz Te to score a hattrick?

Weirdest game of my life that. Favourite player gets demolished by a tackle that should have resulted in Brown being banned from the professional game it was that bad. And then Vaz Te, who should have been in the team alongside Butterfield for the previous 3 months (walking on a tightrope my arse with players of that talent to choose from) gets a chance to shine, he's sold six weeks later, and the manager who ignored the best talent outside the Premier League for half a season dines out on it for the rest of his career and believes he's a superstar. And we beat Leeds 4-1. But we always beat Leeds. They reckon they're rivals of Man Utd, who couldn't care less about them. Their real rivals are us and we always beat them.

So we lost Butterfield, we lost Vaz Te, but we kept Hill. Brilliant.

Keith, you're still an arsehole and you always were.

Hope Jacob's alright and his son does well.

And yes, it feels like yesterday.

This isn't true, he's a proper family man, he looks after his own, and if he was on my side I'd feel invincible, but, for whatever reason, he was never on Barnsley's side. I am and that's why I take exception to him.

Bloody heck I didnt know that, mate. I always thought he was a lwb. Obviously I've never seen him play or whatever but most of the reports on here and twitter etc all said his primary position was lwb!

What a huge result that was for us that day, winning at Mansfield, near the end of season '02.
And like this season, they'd already beaten us at Oakwell then, in December I think.

they get compensated greatly for their exposure to criticism as long as it's related to their performance and not their personal issues I don't have a problem with it

I would love to see a back 4, we are shipping tons of goals anyway so playing 5 defenders makes no sense at all, it's not like our full backs bomb forward that much anyway, get rid of one defender and put someone in whose more useful going forward

He's an attacking player. Pretty much all references to him before he signed formus mentioned him being attacking left wing. Shamrocks website used to call him a "forward" at one point (I looked it up to double check yesterday before I made my line up). It's one of the reasons I dislike sormaz so much, he lies to gaslight fans into thinking we've signed players in key areas when we haven't. Claimed Rodriguez was a striker, he's a winger, claimed Lewis was a striker, he's a winger, claimed Farrugia was a left back, he's a winger.

That's the frustrating thing. He is a con man who lies and fools fans. We all knew we needed cover at left back so he told us that he'd signed one when he hadn't. We all knew we needed a striker so he told us he'd signed Lewis who very clearly isn't.

I would play that formation but replace Miles De thingy with Mccarthy who is less error prone, would play Benson and ask him to express himself and play positively (swapping out Nwakali) and also replace Humphrys (one of the laziest players I’ve ever seen) with Max Watters.

One of the things I read about him was that he was extremely injury prone which at the moment is looking a bit likely as he’s already been sidelined.. Hope it’s not the case in future but again typically us signing someone with a poor injury record.

Mccarthy is less error prone than Mael?? Mccarthy has been nothing but an error since he's replaced Mael. He is nowhere near good enough. Watch him specifically against Blackpool - has a hand, unfortunately, in 2 goals. Been shocking.

We also looked crap* when Mael was out last time too.

    *edit - crapper...

I think most of us are getting a bit fed up of the back 3 it’s just can you trust O’Keeffe & Farrugia as full backs in a 4 or do you want to play De Gevigney & Earl there? I’m not sure I like the sound of either.

    That’s a worry.

I thought we might have gone with an experienced left wing back to complement the youngster in Gent but I should have known better.

I do think Farrugia has potential in the role, he’s certainly quick & looks the part attacking wise (apart from against Blackpool’s beast at right back) but he looks very shaky defensively.

Someone said Barrett had been called up to Irish U21’s
A pre-season friendly but more important than last 5 or 6 given we hope to see some passion for a potential new head coach or more of the same and we look for a new one

I thought Humphys when he first joined had a bit of skill but was just unfit, but Dale Jennings like, he seems to be always like that. When they show close ups of him on the telly he always seems to be breathing heavy, even after the shortest burst of running. The energy levels just aren't there for what we need. You'd think he was 35 or something.

According to Wikipedia Ferrugia is a defender.According to The Transfermarket web site he's a left sided wingback who also plays right sided attacking midfield.

Simply because on the third of January someone edited the Wikipedia article to remove the word attacker and replace it with the word defender and transfermarkt says he's a left midfielder not a left back as sormaz claimed
