It’s a Sunday isn’t it? That means we’ll be plastered with the Women’s team on Social Media to mask over yesterday’s monstrosity….
Both Clarke and mdg did the media afterwards as you would expect modern players and managers trot out what you would expect. To be fair to Clarke he was critical of them last week even though we won, must have realised how bad this week because he mentioned not throwing them under a bus which previously hasn't stopped him. Oh and they are in today hopefully running up some pit stack as they didn't do much running yesterday.
Listening to Clarke and to me he sounds like a man coming to terms with his own lack of understanding of the game, he's lost the supporters that's for sure, as for the players, we can only speculate but given the lack of effort by most of them it would suggest he's lost them too. The transfer window is looming on the horizon and I would have serious doubts to Clarke's ability to motivate players coming in, the time is right for a re-set, we're not going to challenge for promotion by whichever way it can be achieved, so put him and us out of our collective misery, Let him go and begin the new year with a fresh approach, hopefully with a new coach, centre half, keeper and a centre forward.
Prob trying to get his head round why they are so chalk and cheese home and away, and mindful that if the away form falls away, he’s a goner.
Might be another 2016 scenario coming up where the head coach leaves, we promote from within (CH) and then we go on a great run overtaking some of those currently above us. Another Wembley trip and another win there - about time for another one! Then we face the horrors of PL2 next season but we’ll have an up and coming young coach in charge (like Hecky was) who might tap up some of his old Villa mates to help us out. The future is bright. The present is a nightmare. We certainly hit new lows yesterday in both performance and result. I could hardly believe what I was seeing.
Not every paratrooper is a rhombus, but every rhombus is a paratrooper. Although I may be thinking of parallelograms. Not every paratrooper is a parallelogram, but every parallelogram is a paratrooper.
