In response to the 'best' to which I have contributed. My initial offering is St Winifred's School Choir - Grandma. Complete and utter kak. Shi.te lyrics compounded by a bland, predictable melody. The attempt on the video/telly to make viewers go 'awwww' by showing a young lass with missing front teeth was cringeworthy.
And another that springs to mind. The Laughing Gnome - David Bowie. Pure unadulterated garbage from the same bloke who brought us Starman, Heroes, Ashes to Ashes, etc etc. If you've never heard it try not to hear it. If you have heard it I apologise for reminding you - try to breathe.
Surely Bowie and McCartney produced enough brilliance to exempt them from being two of the first three entries??
Mika - Grace Kelly. I worked in an office when it was released & they listened to one of them radio stations with a really small playlist which meant they played this over & over again. I’m still traumatised 15 years on. I hate that song.
Hard to define 'worst'. Lyrically: The Music Man - Black Lace Musically: Gangam Style Most undeserved popularity: Thinking Out Loud - Ed Sheeran Most unjustifiably self satisfied: Money for Nothing - Dire Straits Just awful all round: Baby Shark
