Touching on from Sky’s attempt at totally pissing all fans off will these kickoffs eventually stop you going? A guy who has sat with us for 30 odd years only goes to Saturday 3pm games as he doesn’t drive and is 70 odd, a think this year will be his last season, its absolutely ridiculous the amount of games Sky are changing
Yes I will . As an OAP rate (keep the lights on Kier , as you get your freebies u robin ba*tard ) Travelling from distance it actually saves me money whilst supporting MY club .
Yeah snap but a really can see why folk will be put off too…….some of my mates who are mid 30’s to early 40’s have sacked the games off already A don’t mind a midweek game every now and again but these kick offs are a joke
Unfortunately Sky don't give a 5hit; they'll only change if people actually boycott watching the matches.
It won’t put me off particularly. My son is now old enough to come to all the night games and my work is office hours Monday to Friday. Totally understand it’s not so simple for others and that is a worry. That said, I missed the Stockport game as I already had tickets for a show in Halifax on the Saturday night. Although I was more concerned about the fact that I wasn’t that bothered about missing it! Someone told me the score outside the theatre, I didn’t even bother checking the score! Clinton Baptiste was clearly more entertaining than what is being served up at Oakwell much of the time.
I live in Hull - combined with constant roadworks/closures on A1 and A63, and the general faff of getting in and out of the ground as a driver, night matches are just a massive hassle. Probably won't renew - had a season ticket 25 years but it's just easier to pay on the gate for the 4 Saturday 3pm home games now.
According to Darragh McAnonthy (posh owner)the increase in revenue for each club was around 130k vs last season, I don't think clubs would in fairness have signed upto it knowing what they know now.
I’ve always said I’ll keep renewing even if we’re terrible & dropped down the leagues but I never factored into it that they may change the times of our home games on such a regular basis that it puts me off going. The whole Saturday routine feels like it’s gone. Last season was bad enough when we had home games scheduled in three successive international breaks that were all postponed but this season is far worse.
90% not renewing at this stage and purely down to KO times. Quite happy to POTD for traditional Saturday games bot not fv.cking about with unpredictable rearrangements given my home or work locations.
And to be honest, even if I lived around the Barnsley area, gone are the days when you can plan holidays and weekends away based on the fixture list. So even then it would be a hard decision, esp if finances were tight. So I think a lot will pay on the day from now onwards.
The new KO times are playing into sky's hands turning more into armchair fans with sky subscriptions, this is exactly what they wanted.
If there is a sample 1000 fans taken across all EFL clubs who stated they will be armchair fans only going forward, it would be interesting to know the ratio of Sky Subscriptions vs. Dodgy Sticks.
The kick off times don’t bother me in the slightest, the lack of entertainment, lack of ambition, lack of match day experience and not looking forward to games anymore will be the biggest factor, getting out of the habit the alternative and missing out on a pre-match pint will be the biggest pull on heart strings.
