    I’m not sure how money has become an issue with this deal. He’s on £4000 a week at Birmingham. Appreciate we might not want him on that but if we really wanted him, we would have paid it. O’Keeffe is on more.

    From his point of view, I wouldn’t have taken the cut either. Birmingham’s fault for sticking him on those wages but to be honest, anybody who wanted him would pay those wages as it’s not exactly a ridiculous amount.

    He wasn’t on much less at Forest Green before joining us and Rochdale were paying him decent money. Got a good agent.

    Regardless he would not have taken a pay cut. He'd be paid up his contract and more than likely a signing on fee. If he then leaves on a free eventually. He may have to take the scraps on offer.
