He was supposed to be their talisman to take them back up the leagues. How fickle football club owners are....
I'm not suprised after listening to the boys on NTT20 but I think this one is on the fans. They didn't like the style of play ala Neill Collins and things were going a little toxic.
I’m beginning to think that all football following in the social media age is toxic. Some fans just always think they know best. They sound like the old bloke back and centre of the ESU behind me in the late nineties, whom was even moaning through the ‘96-‘97 season!
Val Ismael was seen on the Rollercoaster, and eating some candy floss as well, at the Pleasure beach this afternoon lol. So could he be the new boss, of the orange 'donkey' lashers ?.
Adds a bit of perspective this doesn’t it? Another one of the expected competition not having the smoothest of starts to the season.
Two big Lancy rivals to each other, Preston & Blackpool, are the first two teams to sack their managers then. One has replaced theirs already now with Paul Hecky, let's see who the other one goes for.
They loved him before as well. I think he made a huge mistake leaving Blackpool the first time... For an assistant managers role at Villa. I could perhaps understand if it was under the mentorship of Guardiola, Klopp, Emery, perhaps even some of the old geniuses, Conte, Mourinho etc... but Gerrard?! And then to leave after about 6 months later after Gerrard got the sack. Wonder if he regrets it now? He managed a whopping 1 win with QPR and has been poor back at the helm of Blackpool. With him not being a huge name or having more experience, I think his time as a manager could genuinely be up. Edit- I still think it's a little harsh on him from Blackpool mind. They had a great end of season last season if i remember properly. Slow start this season but seems a little much, despite them being battered at home by Stockport.
It would be hilarious if the lashers went with Michael Applepie again, for about the third or fourth time! lol. Only for him to leave them again eventually, when a bigger and better team comes along.
