Nobody has said otherwise, but it doesn't mean we should put up with poor standards off the pitch. For years we've had fan groups and evenings with management and yet still things are a mess.
Exactly. It’s why I never take any notice of what alleged changes we are supposedly going to make as years later next to nothing improved or changed. I mean I can give an example our new GK kit. 3 new kits but you can only buy the shirt and socks - I mean WTF is that all about. My son being a goalkeeper who likes to wear it but i can only get him 2/3 of it. Daft.
At Anfield today- 3.60 Carlsberg 4.00 for bitter Not sure if matchday prices or for the friendly today
I genuinely think that's because a lot of clubs including Barnsley have given up on matchday income completely. It's why we charge a fortune for new season tickets and even more for matchday tickets, leave stands to rot and put in the bare minimum service for highest possible prices at refreshment stalls. Clubs only care about the TV money now, supporters attending games are just an obstacle for them
We park in the south stand car park and due to the stupid gates closed 30 mins before kick off rule and we also were rushing and had not eaten anything since dinnertime and it was warm it would have been nice to get something to eat and drink but if the 3 of us had got a burger and a drink it would have been over £40, that's a lot for poor quality food and drink.
They'd make a fortune if they had a burger van or soft drink stall in the carpark to sell to the cars they keep locked in for a ridiculous length of time after the game too
Haha, I don’t drink, but when I did I definitely drunk gin, and not in a posh way……probably why I had to stop!!!
Apparently they hadn't enough beer for the boxing, whatever price they were charging, thats poor management. The sound system seems worse than ever, the age old saying keeps popping in my head, speculate to accumulate,
The beer thing was ridiculous at the boxing mate. No excuses for that whatsoever. You know, speculate to accumulate, I haven't heard/seen that expression in god knows how many years. Over the past month, I must have read it about 100 times Is there a reason it's popping up? Some meme or pop culture I've suddenly missed out on again haha
I dont pay overinflated prices. But some of the examples given are not comparable. Eg you can get a drink at the races the entire time the course is open. Staff have to be paid. For I'm guessing 3 or 4 hrs minimum with a window around 1 and 3 quarter hrs at most to serve. From what I've seen the only way prices can be reduced are demand catered for during the two periods. I thought they were going to introduce them there multi pint pourers. But as during the boxing. Anyone willing to queue half the concourse to get a beer need to get their heads checked out. As for spice for the kids. Why do people bairn. Call int local shop. Ont way tut ground. No queueing for em either.
I went to the boxing at the o2 arena a couple of months ago. I paid £44 for 2 pints of Coors and 2 single vodka & oranges. I genuinely nearly passed out when I saw the price.
