We wanted a keeper but we had to wait until after the Olympics to get our target.
It's more than possible that our targets are just waiting for the green light to sign.
I'd rather be patient to get the players we want than sign anyone just to please a impatient few.

Window should be closed a week before the start of the season, in my view. Waiting for all these dominoes to fall benefits nobody except the massive clubs.

 

Fairly sure that Hein was the first choice keeper so the lad we have wasn’t the number one target. For starters.

 

If that's true I'm glad we didn't get our first target. Not sure how you're fairly sure in the first place mate because all I saw was were were linked with a young goalkeeper on loan from a prem side and loads of rumours swirling. Bergstrom, Hein, Slonina, the Icelandic keeper and even keepers from championship. Not sure how anyone 'ITK' would have guessed either with such broad circumstance

 

There seems to be an acceptance within the club and on here that its the transfer window that matters, rather than being ready for the start of the season. Consequently this will be the third year in a row that we're not properly ready for the season. Two years ago this approach cost us promotion and this year we seem to have accepted that we're going to struggle in what is an absolute gift of an opening run of fixtures against a load of fodder.

 

Yeah, well, he also said he wanted to get 'business done early' and have 'everyone in for the training camp', so maybe some are somewhat sceptical of the clubs ability to deliver to his expectations.

 

The main issue is we build a team for today, usually getting things together late and then dismantling at the season end. We don’t have much continuity and build with some minor tweaks each summer.
