Birmingham beat Rangers last night, which shows the poor quality of the SPL to lose to a third tier English side. The daft prices of drinks they charged will pay towards the signings.
It’s over a fiver in the White Bear in town. I was down near Croydon last night and Asahi was £6.90 a pint
I'm feeling more positive this season than this time last season and I've liked our business in the transfer market. I'm not sure about Top 2 only because the league is much stronger but I think we'll do well.
I wait to be convinced on that. I think top 6 again looks realistic. Need to see where we are at the end of September. If we are top 6 then, I think we can only improve, if the youngsters are allowed to come on & progress, with the right coaching & experience around them pays dividends. It's not out of the question. No one expected anything in our promotion season to the Premier League, in fact I think we were tipped for relegation. Jury out, but optimistic. For right, or wrong.
I’m not entirely sure Birmingham are good enough to get automatic. They’ve spent money, some are risks and their manager is inexperienced as well as first team management goes. I’m fancying two of Blackpool, Charlton and Huddersfield. I also think Rotherham, Bristol Rovers, Bolton, Peterborough, Wigan and Reading will be decent sides. I hope Birmingham fans keep their arrogance and complacency up because there’s a real chance they won’t get top six.
I've never gone along with the idea that we (or any club for that matter), are apparently not ready this year. So let's hope we can do it the following year or the year after etc!. But we can't have that idea, because nobody has a long term future with the club anymore. With the way these owners operate, players and managers/coaches don't even get 2 years normally. And then its yet another rebuilding season, again and again!.
A lot of if’s there. For all the talk of ability the biggest attribute any player can have is to be available for the vast majority of matches. To replace 6 first teamers who were all pretty much ever presents is a huge ask.
