I am over the moon for Marie Tidball a very, very nice woman and the people of Penistone, Dodworth, Silkstone to name but 3 will have a brilliant MP.
The first pages are horrendous towards our town. Roll on the new season, at least we can wait until half time to annihilate them.
Just noted. As most of you will be already aware. South yorkshire is a sea of red. All lost at the last election regained. My faith is restored somewhat. Labour now need to keep those floating voters onside. But it will take years. (More than 1 term in office) To do that. Let's hope they get it right.
Not enough apparently. On a serious note I'd love to see the breakdown of age groups that voted if they ever get announced And how many of the younger end could be arsed. One thing it can't tell you is what people voted. So another myth regardless. How the fekk would they know. No ones ever asked me. Or anyone I know. Exit polls eh. Voted labour btw. 67yr owd fekker. Signed it Hooky feller.
All that abuse about the town based on a rumour. What's that saying about counting chickens? Not seen many apologies
Looking at the results, around 26k people voted reform across both Constituencies - around 30% of the vote. I'm not apologising for that - that is a shocking figure.
Well done Labour an congratulations Barnsley, it just proves that when the Prime Minister goes bad you cant plug the hole with bigger knobs
You’ll be waiting a long time. It’s this Trump like contempt for others and an immediate propensity to demonstrate unjust hate and vicious disparagement without proper thought or care that well and truly shines through from the pack animals. With an excuse last night to turn on the people of Barnsley. Strange isn’t it? When I woke up this morning I had the same decent friends neighbours and other acquaintances as I did when I went to bed last night. An exit poll prediction didn’t change that, nor did the subsequent rapid shredding of said prediction. Importantly however, and thankfully, the bile, idiocy and contempt for their fellow constituent set down here by many in this thread is not reflected in the actual character of the average Barnsley resident
I don’t think folk have much to apologise for to be honest, they were feeling angry because the polls were implying that the Racist party were winning, I’d have been more disgusted and wanting an apology if folk were celebrating said polls.
I'll apologise for getting it wrong (I'm glad I did). I won't apologise for criticising those who vote for an open racist.
That's the key I think. But apparently you can't call racists racist on here. The other racists don't like that.
Have you ever been to Lincolnshire? With the exception of Lincoln and a few other pockets of civilisation, the gene pool is extremely limited. Sadly, this is no surprise.
I don't feel the need to apologise for my concern, based on the exit polling, that Barnsley as a town had collectively shot itself in the foot again And that the influence of a party of unabashed racists was the way people thought they could make a change based on a manifesto of hatred and lies
Reform the 3rd biggest party by overall votes. Together them and Conservatives having a bigger margin. Hopefully Labour has a fantastic term because otherwise I'm genuinely fearful!
The reform guy in Barnsley North called black people lazy & savages, he got 10,000+ votes. Who would vote for him, the I'm not racist but brigade, and they are rightly being called out by everyone with a sense of decency.
