I'm surprised it's a market the club hasn't really tapped into too much. There was the collab with the terrace to bring out the 95/96 shirts a couple of seasons ago, and the 96/97 ones about 7 years ago to celebrate that particular anniversary. Given how big business retro shirts are now, you'd have thought they'd have had a few more on the go.
Still got my original 96/97 shirt. Specifically for the design without the successful season taken into account, prob my all time fav.
Agree. To be honest, I fancy all 3! I was 10 when I bought that 96/97 home shirt, doesn't quite fit me these days!
The Lyons Cakes kit is probably my second favourite ever after the Sandal Bayern one. Will definitely be treating myself.
I bought the 1996/97 blue training top .I've still got it but after 2 grandchildren the Ora logo has been picked at and barely visible, its got a few holes in it and the odd splash of paint but I won't throw it away.
Coupled with some unfeasibly tight shorts. Talking of mega-taches, I wonder if I'll look this hard and menacing in my Lyons Cakes shirt? Just FYI, I don't have a moustache.
I think I'd like one of the early ones, like Tait. Got a proper Brooklands Motel team one from 85 ....... it no longer fits.
I never understood the “i” on these shirts…. Were they made by the tourist information centre?! Discounted match travel perhaps to go with it?
Definitely a market for this for the club. Every so often I’ll have a look on eBay or classic football shirts for some of the originals and most of the time, they are quite expensive unless you can find a bargain.
