I don't think you are in the minority, to be honest. Plenty of fans don't get involved in the happy clapping or club bashing and really only care about the football.
Becarful what you wish for. They almost went when we sold the club to chien and conman look how that one panned out. We're still feeling the pinch. I think the whole things been blown out of proportion.
I’d also love to know the context of Jean’s comments. Was she walking into an office telling anyone who would listen that she thought the girl in question was dressed inappropriately & flirting with a player or players or was Jean having a conversation with someone or multiple people & they were joking about a bit of what they perceived to be flirting. There is a massive difference. She could be initiating a conversation or she could just be involved in one with other members of staff. For example a colleague or two who just work in admin could have made the initial comment & Jean was just making small talk agreeing. We’ll probably know but obviously there’s no media interest in a member of staff who isn’t an owner or in a position of power’s comments
Does anyone have a link to Barry Cotters twitter (X I know) account? I can’t seem to find it? also all this dropped on the same day as the Munich Air Disaster? Maybe it was Sammy the Snake's previous management team that leaked the story to The Athletic?
Said it before and il say it again....... Amateurs in all departments behind the scenes. I get they are 'really trying' and 'mistakes will happen' but this club is going nowhere under this board. Total clearout from top to bottom is the only way.
We have a new Sporting Director, we have or are about to have a new CEO. Maybe, just maybe, the board IS taking steps to sort things out.
as usual others get the blame while the consistent factor is lauded. Even now people having a go at JAQ on social media
Re the Marsh issue. (And believe me I'm as furious as most. As anyone in our group at the recent meeting will be aware as i brought the issue up and asked for it to be looked into,) As i understood the article emails went round re Marsh being available to play for York in the cup. He didn't, and the powers that be, assumed he'd be eligible for our replay, No one picked up on the not available for the first game, as he was still registered with york. And made a wrong assumption. Jean imo is someone who has ideas on dressing correctly in the workplace. And voiced her opinion. We all have different opinions on how far and what is deemed decent. I'm pretty sure most of us would agree a bikini would not be appropriate. Skirt length would be subjective. Note. The apology was accepted. So no more to be said. I'm sure Ellie would not want this publicity.
Ohh no sir, you can't say that on here lol. Now you will be 'Wicker Manned' in Burnsley taarn centre, and nobody will ever remember you even existed.
From Leon Wobschall on Twitter the club say that they strongly dispute the allegations of sexism in the club. Interesting this, why apologise if no offence had been taken and surely the club will be in a position to take legal action against the Athletic if the article is false?
I'm the opposite. Couldn't care less about the football, I'm all about the politics. Loads better & more consistent.
Haven’t read the Athletic Article but would assume it uses plenty of “allegedly” and “the Athletic has heard reports that” which are legalese to avoid them being sued. I apologise at work all the time for something that may have been “misconstrued” or “if my actual intentions in saying that were not clear”. It doesn’t mean I did anything wrong in the first place, or that I didn’t. It’s accepted workplace etiquette that if you offend or upset someone one you apologise regardless of intention.
Hallelujah, and until FACTS are known, people should wind their necks in. Also get the feeling that as usual many of those who claim to be outraged by this are the usual club ‘knockers’ (pun intended)
