and that is relevant to the way transfers are paid in what specific way? Please be precise and remain on topic.
It’s not just our fans. It’s all over. Bed wetters everywhere over the past two days. Just calm down. I hate the transfer window. It’s just a load of contrived nonsense. Same every year. A frenzy whipped up by Sky Sports to pressure clubs into spending money they don’t have. I’d love someone to challenge it as a “restriction of trade” or something. Meanwhile we have to put up with the circus of some inexplicable TV yellow dress code until the early hours. (Not that I’m even watching it). File it with Black Friday and Cyber Monday - in the bin.
Let’s be honest it’s another **** show from the current board. Everyone else around us strengthened in multiple areas. Yes we could have possibly improved defence but we still have a weak bench. No one this season has really come off bench and changed a game when it matters. Feel sorry for Collins because he’s the one who will take blame for this inept board.
All I wanted for Christmas was a Dukla Prague away kit. What were you expecting? We have a goalkeeper with two arms, for a start.
Same set of morons who started the window saying Cole, Kane, Williams and Cadden were going to be sold. We're going to have to replace those in the summer or shell out on wages to get them to extend. The biggest issue was defence. We've taken reasonable steps to shore it up.
No one can be precise, isn’t this the whole point. Talking about finances is being on topic. I was simply addressing a poster who despite being answered every time, repeatedly posts about us having £10 million’ to spend when that isn’t the case. The reference about directors putting the money in Is about the inference that incoming transfer money is being kept by the directors.
I’d definitely recommend doing something else on Deadline Day. I’ve been out to football training, picked my daughter up from the station, come home, had a chat, gone to bed. Looked at my phone - realised it was deadline day. The world didn’t stop spinning cos I wasn’t glued to a transfer tracker. Just more important stuff in life than getting into a hissy fit about stuff you can’t control. Anyway, night all.
100%. The board said players were going nowhere for peanuts. Yet some were saying low bids would be accepted. We will get nowt for em now. Board accept that. We can only hope some will sign new contracts.. The Styles one is difficult. Requested to play at a higher level. So would be impossible for him to concentrate if we held him back. We can only hope he puts himself in the shop window in the Championship and raise his stock for the summer.
Again not the point I made so irrelevant to this discussion. You seem to be under some strange delusion than incoming and outgoing transfer fees are dealt with differently. For clarity we have an ongoing income stream from transfers potentially to that value that will be paid in stages. The awful mismanagement of club finances by the clubs owners has indeed meant that the board have had to inject funds. But that’s a completely separate issue to how transfers are set up. I think it was reasonable to target strengthening the defence given the awful summer recruitment would have been advantageous to strengthen midfield and forward areas via loans for players capable of adding value as others have and time will tell if they bites us or not.
It’s worth noting that the ‘team’s around us’ are all propping up their respective leagues which possibly influenced their recruitment. Just a thought
Got some links to these teams around us that have strengthened in multiple areas please? Had a very quick look at obvious promotion candidates and can’t see one club that matches that description?
