Just stopped at a petrol station near Manchester Airport. It had a mini Asda inside. Guess how much a 500ml bottle of Fanta Lemon was priced at.

    I'll give you a clue, I didn't buy one.

It wasn't quite that much, and I did wonder whether it was a misprint, as it was the same price as a certain bottle of Prime. However even the pricing of that was all over the place.

It would be karma if a government were to say, OK if you're going to charge obscene prices we'll add on an extra 10% vat and have our share of your profiteering.

If it makes you feel better, I recently paid £7 for a 750ml bottle of water in Abu Dhabi airport, didn't realise it was that much when I bought it!
Gin was cheaper in the duty free at only £8 a litre.

Morrisons do two 2 litre bottles for £3.50 as their regular price, just as an example of how much this is a rip off.

Be interesting to see some of the annual profits of these companies, for sure some have been impacted with global events and overheads have increased, but lots have used this to jump on the bandwagon and rip people off whilst trying to be all apologetic.

I think I'd rather die of thirst to be honest. Thankfully, they had bottles of Rubicon Mango at a much more reasonable 80p.

Was this the genuine price or was it some kind of computer malfunction, or had the person printing the price tickets consumed too much gin? A 500ml bottle of Fanta orange is showing as £1.70 on the Asda website.

It was a petrol station though, near the airport so they can charge what they like!

I do think it was maybe a typo/computer error. They had Fanta Orange and Pineapple for £1.70. They had bottles and cans of Prime too though ranging from £1.60 to £5.83 (and many other price points in between).
