It will be because of emergency services required for bonfire night (most being held on the Saturday.)

Can’t wait until he’s gone, maybe the club can then finally move forward, off the field anyway

Bonfire night/weekend. If there are three other home games in South Yorkshire on Saturday I can see them being stretched thin. Sunday would be preferable to Friday, perhaps TV rights come into it.

That’s fair enough, it just begs the question, why our game? The distance the away fans have to travel doesn’t appear to come into the equation

This really is not the place for sensible, reasonable thought.

    Shame on you....

Insulting to Horshams players and staff who should be working on a Friday. Very little thought has gone into this has there.

Why cos I’m annoyed a game that should be held on the Sat isn’t to accommodate other teams so they can? Perish the thought. I get back from New York on the Friday so can’t make it in time but would have been able to on the Sat.

Serious question - anyone know how many police are typically involved in a matchday operation? I'm trying to understand what the impact is on the emergency services.

For this tie can’t imagine it’s going to need barely any at all. Would imagine the attendance is only going to be around 5k at best.

Awful, awful decision from SYP. I'd be fuming if I were a Horsham fan wanting to attend this game.

Why not move one of the other fixtures? Why not play it on the Sunday?

Surely there was a better alternative than this. I really hope the club pushed hard to avoid this and were effectively overruled on it.

As mentioned above, it's also bonfire night weekend, one of the busiest times of the year for the emergency services. If there are only going to be 5000 people there it makes sense to impact the fewest amount of people, surely?

Would be a nice gesture if the club offered free admission to Horsham fans.

Probably get national press coverage and show up SYP.

I suspect this would fall foul of a minimum pricing rule or the one that requires equivalent pricing to be applied to home and away fans for equivalent facilities.

However, the suggestion did remind me that this will impact Horsham financially too, as the gate receipts are shared from cup ties. Barnsley will take a hit too, but the impact will be far more significant for Horsham's overall finances.
