One of the following away please. For selfish reasons. Barrow. Salford Newport Sutton. If not. anyone at home.
Likewise, old mate. Then, when we played Chester in the second home league game of the 1974/75 season, he was superb and unbeatable. We played Chester off the park, but lost 1-0, all thanks to the performance of Millington. He was awarded ten out of ten for his display in the Sunday papers the following day.
One of the best goalkeeping displays I'd seen at Oakwell. BigLil wasn't it a Sunday game?I recall the first Sunday game at Oakwell and I thought it was against Chester.I might be wrong because somethings happen to the brain cells after a certain age. After the first Sunday game I went to the Ritz in town to watch Bruce Lee,I think it was Enter The Dragon.
I desperately want Enfield or Carernarfon or Bromsgrove away, again lol. Just to prove a Tykes point ehh.
The Sunday game was during the previous campaign (1973/74), when there were power cuts and we kicked off at 2pm. It was a 1-1 draw, Mick Butler got our goal, and our attendance was over 8,000.
Yeah it was away at Tottingham's White heart lane ground wasn't it lol. I heard that loads of local cockney's (Tottenham, Arsenal, & West Ham etc), went that night to see a local non league team, beat a bunch of northern Yorkies!!. Aww what a shame ehh, that we hammered them and embarrassed them 0-3!.
Oh dear, Mr Lil! 65 in four weeks' time but it seems I'm becoming confused already! Slippery slope, I feel! 'E played well for Rhyl though, didn't he? I was gutted that night. Wasn't the replay at Old Trafford? (Or was that Marine? )
The 2nd replay was at Old Trafford against Rhyl, just a couple of days or so before Christmas. There was about 2000 of us in a stadium of 50,000 plus!
