Agree with this. I can't think of one outfield player that was worth anything above a 5/10 today. No doubt they all had fairly high pass completion stats but there was little to no incisiveness. The strikers didn't test their keeper properly. So, I've gone for Roberts. Made a couple of decent saves and only conceded from the penalty. As usual his passing wasn't as good as we've seen from previous keepers but at no point did I worry that Blackpool would grab a second.
Mael De Gevigney. He must have been hugely nervous after the last league start and what went off. He’d have had the ponty on his back had he made an early error. He was faultless. He was cool and calm, made no errors defensively, and whilst he played a lot of square passes, that was clearly at the instruction of his head coach. Much more comfortable in the middle than on the right. It will be interesting to see what happens when Lopata is fit.
Very accomplished performance from De Gevigney. I also don't see the problem with McCart as apart from the second goal against Pompey he's been very solid. I just don't see what Shepherd has done to warrant being dropped.
Back 3 were ok but mainly as they didn't have much to do. Have narrowly gone for de Gevigney. Whoever has voted for Herbert Backpass - wow.
Interesting that McCart, the official Player Of The Match, has not got a single vote of the 27 cast thus far. That does not surprise me at all. Who on earth chooses the official Player Of The Match and does it have to be a loanee, wherever possible?
It's the match day sponsor I think. They usually seem to choose their favourite player or a goalscorer.
