Grandson aged 7 plays for Hoyland Common Falcons under 8’s and Grand daughter aged 4 is playing with Hoyland Common Falcons under 7’s boys team but they are in the process of setting up a girls team.
Started today for us. Selby junior league is Saturdays. My lad plays for Kellingley Welfare U14s. Defending league champions, albeit not the strongest league in the area. Nevertheless, kicked off proceedings with a 6-1 away triumph at Elvington Harriers.
My lad plays against Tinsley Juniors Steels tomorrow for Athersley Rec u13s. I assume they’re all Wednesday fans so hoping for a convincing win!
Grandson plays centre midfield for Wakefield Athletic JFC under 9 Blacks team. First league game is tomorrow, away against North East Leeds. Can't wait! Both of us! Update: Won 8-1. A great result.
My eldest lad plays for Holmfirth Town U10s. They start their season tomorrow morning against Kirkburton in what should be an absolute cracker if last season's matches against them are anything to go by!
My grandson is playing with the under 7s too Orared. My daughter’s boyfriend takes him Tuesday and Saturday.
You will probably have seen grand daughter there,, she sometimes wears a top with no 1 and Feral on the back! Lol
Grandson plays for penistone church u11s started last week with a 5-1win. Nice early start this week got to up penistone for 9 -30 but wouldn't change a thing if ever gets to the standard he plays on Saturdays that would me done with a season ticket.
My youngest son plays u12s Saturday Selby league Sunday Garforth league. He is a goalkeeper and I think he's brilliant, I love my weekends watching him and his team mates give everything playing football. I'm sure he will be Barnsleys keeper in 8 years time, if he is you all better be nice about him on here.
Those days are long gone for me and my lads but they were the best times we had together 20 years ago. I had the absolute pleasure of being John Stones first assistant manager at Penistone all those years ago. I’d love to travel back in time and do it all again!
Love it, son in law helps out with two teams in Bolton on Dearne, Daz Williams, plays a bit of Rugby for Dearne Valley Bulldogs, i love grass roots football, its just the sheer brilliance, well done all you out there that are involved.
Daughter playing for Chorlton &West Didsbury. Can’t get to all her games now, but we do like to go over and see her play when we can. Glad she’s still playing.
My son's first league game of the season today (and i'm a coach) for Marple Athletic under 12s. East Manchester league.
Good luck everyone - and remember it’s all about the kids enjoying themselves and not life or death for those in the sidelines! (Also - the coaches &refs are doing it for the kids sake and without them there is no game). Thankfully our family is now beyond this but was great while it happened
