Just listened to the end of Raduo Humberside's commentary. Not abandonned but ref called full-time with 5 minutes.of added time left. Scunthorpe furious, Buxton happy as larry! Wonder what, if anyting, the EFL will do with this one.
I thought if the ref abandoned after 75 minutes, the scoreline stood and counted? Or it used to be like that? Unless I've imagined it, haha.
I'm sure playing those extra 4 minutes would've made all the difference to player safety, especially compared to getting everything set up for a new/resumed game, away team costs, time etc. What a moron. Edit: unless it was full time and not an abandonment, in which case still a stupid decision but at least the result should stand
As far as I can tell. It's going to be a difficult one. There are no time restrictions as far as I can see. But the rules are vague and the football association can make a decision. Both clubs will have a different view of the situation. Blackpool v Huddersfied was abandoned after 48 minutes and not replayed. (Crowd invasion last match of season) Accrington v Sunderland abandoned after 72 minutes. Ordered to be replayed. As was ours at Plymouth..58 minutes..The game restarts at 0-0.
Where have you seen that. ? There seems a lot of confusion after the game. BBC sport less than 30mins ago. :- It is not yet known whether the result will stand, the final minutes will need to be replayed or whether the whole game will need to be replayed. BBC Sport has contacted the National League to seek clarification.
It appears that the game was stopped twice because Scunthorpe fans threw bottles at the Buxton players. The game was also stopped cos of a ‘medical emergency’ in the stands.
It has been decided that the game will be replayed IN FULL Wow https://www.scunthorpe-united.co.uk...ns-encounter-against-buxton-will-be-replayed/
That's just a bit crazy. Apparently the result doesnt stand but Buxton's red card does. I would imagine Buxton are feeling a tad peeved. Wonder if there's any previous for a match being abandoned after 95mins, having to be replayed in full.
That was a disgrace making us replay the match down at Plymouth, when we were leading 1-4, as it had only been played for just about an hour. And the scoreline is apparently, irrelevant at that stage. I did wonder at the time, could they have compromised and given them 1 pt and us 2 points, instead of replaying it.
