Woody Allen!?!?! WTF!?! What’s next, Peter Sutcliffe sharing views on legalising sex work? What a strange little man he is.
Hermoso was offended and she was right to complain. It's not for anyone else to judge or criticise how she reacted. We're getting into murky waters if we decide how an individual should or should not react to an incident. (Woody Allan ffs - thought he'd died years ago!)
No idea mate. He trolls til he's called out on it, then switches to short upbeat messages for a little while then goes back to stirring. It's boring. He'll get fed up eventually.
Legal proceedings now been filed by the player who was kissed on the lips without consent. This could lead to criminal charges against Rubiales. I am now starting to feel sorry for him and then again I'm not. Bewildered! Modern life eh. Bring back the days as told by Enid Blyton & lashings n lashings of ginger beer.
The biggest thing in all this for me is/was his reluctance to apologise and the grabbing of the crotch clip. An apology in saying, "sorry I was over exuberant" may have gone a long way. Sexual harassment is in no way,..a sole gender problem. I know of one friend. male. Who every time he walks into a solely female office environment to ask questions, Gets saucy remarks every single time. From not one, but many females. He gets very embarrassed. But 1, would not report it For the fear of reprisals to the women, and 2. Pretty sure his male colleagues would be astounded if he did. Embarrassed but brushes it off. I remember when my bro worked at Corahs in the 60s/70s a majority female environment. The comments from the ladies were, fruity, shall we say. As for Woody Allen. Not exactly a stand up citizen. If accusations are to be believed.
I would suspect if he’d apologised as suggested it probably would have been accepted and moved on by now but his refusal to see it was wrong and his position as a result had become untenable is unfathomable. I worked in a factory at 19 years old on a night shift, there was me, one other male on the shift and the remainder were females all around 30 and over, the comments I would get as I walked down the corridor ……… that said as a red bloodied hormonal teenager I did not mind one bit. Although I did just take it as banter. Interestingly looking back I recall the fruitier comments came from the older ladies.
But we are talking about an actual physical incident here - not banter. Actually physically kissing a man or kissing a woman is in some respects very similar - (can't believe I've just typed that - but hey ho!) The big difference is that with a man and woman the dynamic is that the man is almost certainly physically stronger which may put the woman in an uncomfortable/threatened position - probably Hermoso's experience. With two men the dynamics are completely different.
Not sure who you are replying to Taff. I assume the Woody Allen. Opinion. But Exhiberance is shown in every aspect of life and imo. Most of those incidents are understood by both participants. regardless of gender of either. Even strangers. How many times do we hug strangers when scoring a goal, against wendy for example.
Reference the " who you would have a go on but not tell "post. I had a group of mainly females who worked for me and they used to play Sh*g, Marry, Avoid....admittedly they never made a post on the BBS about it and it dunt make the post less misogynistic. Picking up on Hooky recalling the Corah's lasses I used to get an invite to the Gents staff Christmas do ....Not for the faint hearted 17 year old's that one..
my wife's Dad used to kiss her on the lips and that always freaked me out, she didn't seem to mind, so always kept my mouth shut about it , he dead now and thankfully over all the years I never caused a row about it, our family was never touchy feely growing up, you was lucky to get a hug off my mum, funny how different people behave
i had a job at a food processing factory at 16, lad who i worked with was rumoured to be of porn star proportions and the women used to ask him to get it out for them, omg how times have changed, poor lad used to go bright red
A peck on the lips is not tongues down the throat (although I'm not suggesting your dad in law did owt like that lol). . It's not summat that was prevalent in my family. But not something I worried about. I allus kiss my grandkids on the forehead. But again dont see a peck on the lips an issue if others do. Each to their own. And age not an issue either. I allus struggled to give hugs to my lads as they grew older. But see it as normal now with the youngest when he does a flying visit. To say goodbye. Young uns don't worry about things like that they all tend to do it. And dont see it as unmanly. I suppose we are Neanderthals at my age lol.
