Wolves have just been robbed. Man U goalie cleans out 2 strikers nowhere near the ball. A clear and obvious penalty not given by the ref…VAR… nothing to see here

Is it part of the Man U keeper training program to do that then.

I don’t know why they bother having it at old Trafford.

I’d love to hear the explanation about why that wasn’t a foul.

Corrupt. I’d love to say just incompetence, but if that happens at the other end it’s a penalty all day and all night. And to round it off Gary O’Neil gets a yellow card and probably a fine for protesting against what was clearly a disgusting misjustice.

    It just isn’t right.

The referee didn’t even go for a 2nd look.
Wolves deserved something from that game, they were the better side. Man U Will struggle to finish top 6 with that squad. Very poor.

It has to be there for when the same foul occurs against ManUre.
This "game" is rotten to the core.

The var decided there wasn’t a clear and obvious error with the on-field decision, there’s a higher bar for overturning a refs decision.

    Wow.

I don’t know what the point of var is anymore. If I ever did.

    That stinks, it really does.

You didn’t need to overturn his decision you ******* idiot, just tell him it’s worth another look and let him decide for himself!

There should be some explanation of key decisions as occurs in Womens World Cup and there should be a Captains challenge maybe once in each half as in Rugby League,

The challenge is a good idea, but once they've looked at a decision they're only going to double down rather than admit they've made a mistake.

For me, if we're going to continue with VAR, it should be like cricket - they only review the decision when a team appeals, and they have a certain number of appeals per game. Appeal goes against you, you lose a life. Dunno if it works the same in Rugby?

And as you say, having the official explain the rationale is essential.

Decision making process in Rugby for a potential try can take a while as yideo referree requests many angles ridiculous decision at Rotherham on Saturday too Rotherham took it in good spirit like Wolves but it reflects badly on football when referee did not have a second lok at collision of bodies tonight easy to see why Fulham got upset in FA Cup last year at Old Trafford sport needs to be refereed fairly,

It's how the people policing var interpretation of it clearly shown on screen .chose not to verify the evidence.
Remember Wembley ,thought VAR would be useful .Ref chose to ignore it, and Var experts favoured Wedensday .

The same bias is shown by the VAR team as normally shown by referees. That bias is the real problem in football officiating, always has been. I'm not saying that it's deliberate, it's just automatic. I doubt if VAR would have given us a penalty at Old Trafford in 1998 either.

It’s strange how the really bad VAR errors seem to disproportionately go against smaller teams like Brighton Wolves etc and favour Manchester or big London teams. Must just be a statistical quirk

I mean it's fixed isn't it. We already knew that from Wembley though. You could potentially argue that it's a result of subconscious bias rather than out and out cheating but I think the Sheffield Wednesday game pretty much dispels any remaining possibility of that. Occam's razor says it's just bent.
