We all form opinions of our new players as they spend time at the club. Many people, as we know, form negative opinions far too quickly, but that's incidental to this post..... I watched Kacper in the pre season friendly against Crewe and watched him last week. I was impressed. Listened to today's game so didn't see him play. However from the little Ive seen, he's solid, plays simple passes, boots the ball out if in doubt, strong in the air, never shits out of a tackle, takes up good defensive positions. The lad looks like a top acquisition. I always find it interesting to hear the players being determine whether there's anything going on in between the ears. Having just listened to Kacper I reckon we have a future star on our hands. In addition to his performances on the pitch he has a quiet inner confidence which is v commendable. On the basis of his past issues he certainly seems to be a lad who knows his own mind and he has a winners' mentality an he's keen to learn. That kind of mentality is great for the dressing room. I dont predict a riot but I do predict that KL will be another one to add to our list of great CBs.
Liked him from the moment we signed him..He wants to play competitive football and to improve. That ll do for me!
He’s made 2 very important last ditch tackles already. The one yesterday was impressive as I’m pretty sure he made more ground up than Williams, which is some feat given his pace. Knew when we signed him that he’d be one for the first team and he’s had a good start to his career with us. From his interviews he seems well grounded too. Another quality centre back we’ve plucked out of seemingly nowhere it would seem.
Not whilst playing for us he won’t. Almost all their squad are playing top league football in various leagues
He made a brilliant recovering tackle yesterday, although the chance arose from him being caught wrong footed. The second goal came from him being caught asleep and keeping 2 attackers onside. I'll reserve judgement, but he seems to lack concentration sometimes which need to be ironed out!
Went to Hull, friendly, this lad an James were awesome for 45 minutes, yes we've got a talent in our ranks, but for how long god knows, top marks for the scout who fon Casper, c,o,y,r
Reight laiker. Saw him at Worksop and thought then that we'd dropped on a gem. A bit raw, gonna have a few calamity moments, but is going to be at least a champ player, no doubt.
Like the OP says, needs 10 games or so to form a judgment. From the two so far I see lots of promise, but also a potential weakness in decision-making - I think yesterday he was slow to close down both Marquis and Sinclair leading to chances. Wouldn't tell him to his face though, he looks hard as nails. Maybe that's why a couple of headed clearances v Port Vale went astray, his forehead's a rectangle, so if it hits the angle it shoots off in some random direction.
Not the finished article by any means, and needs coaching well, but the raw talent is at the top of the dial.
Let’s be honest if he was anywhere near the finished article we wouldn’t have been able to pick him up in the first place. His lack of pace really worries me. But looks like a tough, old school, heading, blocking and tackling defender who will only improve in time his decision making etc. Reminds me of Mads in a way. Young, talented, but making a big step up in quality. Luckily for us Kasper will learn from his mistakes in League One rather than the championship, which will be a little more forgiving.
He really showed that lack of pace off with the last ditch tackle on Setdi. Only thing I can think of that could explain what happened is that there must have been a wormhole at the Memorial Stadium, eddies in the space-time continuum, that allowed such a slow kid to eat up the ground like a F1 car and hit their forward like a freight train.
