It’s the EU directives I’m afraid

EU-TRAF-RW-6284-UK is all about traffic safety and that. Can’t do owt nowadays.

Think yourself lucky, these roadworks are going to get a second birthday card:
    https://www.wakefieldexpress.co.uk/...epair-crash-damage-to-historic-bridge-4008262

Also they managed to damage the gaslines in the centre while knocking down the old cinema, been closed for 3 months and counting......
    https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co...alled-to-kirkgate-and-shops-evacuated-4097802

Meanwhile cityfibre are conducting a continuous gorilla roadworking operation throughout wakefield, closing roads with no notice and deploying 3 and 4 way traffic lights to block up the rest of the city/
