Connell and Phillips are going to play in the Premier League. Cadden and Andersen and Kitching are going to play for top Championship sides and maybe Premier League teams. Wednesday haven't got anyone in their squad who are even close to these guys. Their best are old and on a downward spiral. We're going to blow them away. But they need you to believe this. You're going to watch a winning side. Go with that attitude, they need you.
Very bold words. Hopefully you are fully correct and they prove it by taking us up there. Come on you reds
Can we get Jay in the dressing room before kick off @YTBFC? I reckon him and Duff would make a great partnership!
Rousing words my friend, but I'm not sure I agree entirely with your assessments. Connell, I agree looks every bit like he can play at the highest level, and I hope he gets the pieces of luck he needs to go with the ability he has. Hopefully that includes a promotion this season, otherwise I can see him getting itchy feet. Phillips - on this seasons form I can see him doing well in the Championship, but I think he lacks the all round game to go higher. Many players have good seasons at this level but fail to repeat it regularly - that's his challenge now. Personally I think he'll be here next year regardless of whether we go up, which for us is a great thing. Andersen - already shown he's a very good Championship centre half. We'll be lucky to keep him, even if we go up. Cadden - will always look attractive in the right team cos he's great going forward. Really suits a strong side. But are the top Champ teams likely to take him? If not, his defensive game might be seen as a risk. I'd like to see him take the step up with us. Kitching - sorry I don't see it. He's done great this season and I love watching him, but I think this is his level. Can't see him succeeding beyond it, too many mistakes that get punished at a higher level. Would so love to be wrong though. Beyond those you mention: Kane - looks so in control at this level, you'd think it would transfer well to the Championship. Would be fascinated to see how well he does over a long spell of games at that level. B.Thomas - I can really see him going levels above where we are now. He's got all the attributes. Tedic and Watters - you've called them both out as higher level players before, the first time you did I wondered what I'd missed, but the last few appearances from both haver shown they have the individual quality, it's just about how they find the way to make it impact the team. I've got a real hunch that Tedic will have an impact at Wembley. Anyway, to your overall sentiment, there's bloody loads to love about this team, and as you say, they have more than enough quality to match Wednesday. I just hope the game pans out in a way that plays to their strengths, and in partciular doesn't get decided by a marginal refereeing decision.
