My daughter absolutely loves them. She also cuts her food on her plate, then eats it with her fork. I'm currently running a search to see if there were any American milkmen working in St Petersburg around 2010.

Technically probably correct TrueRed, but I like them and always have them.

I’m not a massive black pudding fan but I don’t deny those who like it that it should be on a full English. (And I eat it if presented as well…).

Not keen on fresh tomatoes on there either, they’re ok if grilled properly but they tend to be threatened with heat for about three seconds and whacked on the plate solid and raw. Tinned for me.

    What’s your lineup then?

    I’d go:

Bacon, Sausage, Egg (preferably fried - poached or scrambled only when the mood takes me), Mushrooms, Hash Browns, Tinned chopped toms,
Beans, Optional fried slice (if I can be arsed), Toast on the side. (Quantities of each varying on how hungry and/or hungover i am).

ONLY IF EATING OUT AND NOT MADE AT HOME: Black pudding

ONLY IN SCOTLAND ON A FULL SCOTTISH: Potato Scones

IRISH VERSION: add potato farls and soda bread, take off the fried slice and hash browns

    NEVER: bubble and squeak. Ever…

Yea where and how has the hash brown suddenly become the acceptable breakfast inclusion...I'm blaming the Americans, don't get me wrong I love the pancakes thing but it seems to me they are a fried bread substitute.
The Americans also don't do baked beans, which is just bonkers.

And their bacon is mostly fat, which they eat with a weird porridge-like gunk called grits, and they have biscuits and gravy, which is not quite as bad as chucking a hob-nob into the run-off from your Sunday roast, but it's pretty close. Apart from that, they're bang on the money.

To quote them weird beings on twitter, hash browns are elite level. At least if cooked properly.

Sausage, bacon, hash browns, a proper fresh tomato, beans, poached eggs and either toast or fried bread.

Scrambled eggs are a suitable eggy alternative. Tinned tomato's are only acceptable without beans.

Mushrooms, black pudding and fried eggs can get in the bin.

Had haggis a number of times on a Scottish Breakfast - brilliant with a snotty egg!

    FAO Arabian Ian.
I`ve been to several pseudo Burns Nights (all in England) and when the haggis was served with a glass of whisky those supposedly in the know would pour their whisky over their haggis.
I love haggis and love whisky but my preference would be to drink the whisky and eat the haggis.
The question is - would you drown your haggis with the whisky or is that a made up thing?

Snotty egg is never good. I am still traumatised by the omelette my host mother served for me when I was on a school French exchange. 30 seconds in the pan, then onto the plate. Horrendous.

Never heard of that custom but then again I’ve only been to two Burns Suppers.
The haggis was always toasted with a dram and not poured over.
Btw I don’t like whisky so always a problem for me to attend such gatherings.
