Well beaten in the end by a better team but a decent effort from our lads undone by some good finishing poor defending and awful refereeing.
I thought Kane was an issue, when he got the ball and we needed a quick pass to keep a move flowing it didn't happen, it stuck at his feet, he looked around, looked around again and then passed it backwards. End of a good move. Happened time and time again.
Funnily enough thats the Kane i see nearly every week - along with his dreadful shooting - but i thought he was tremendous on Tuesday night.
Yes true but that is because of movement off the ball , the lads a footballer & he always looks to lay the ball & not waste it , that is why he is a good player .
I saw plenty of times in the second half when he had a runner and didn't see it or chose not to bother.
Herbie Kane played how I see him always to do, blinkered, full of sideways and backwards passing. Lacking the vision to pick out a telling pass and perhaps the bravery to risk losing the ball by being more positive. But with a good first touch and not giving it away very much. That’s what he does every game - and to be fair he was probably our man of the match on Tuesday as retaining the ball in the face of the Ipswich press was at least a starting point.
Kane is a very limited player. Good enough at League 1 level but far too slow in thought and action for anything above that. Played as well as he can this year and was as good as anyone on Tuesday. Not enough end product though
