A mate of mine books one in August through booking.com with free cancellation. Cancelled it when the play-off final dates were moved, and the prices have since shot up.
I have just bought an open return Doncaster to Kings Cross for me and my lad for under 40 quid. It’s a bit of a gamble but no doubt prices will escalate in the way they do closer to the time , especially if Wednesday to get to the final ….which they will find out before us I think.
I did that in 2016 for both the JPT and Play-Off Final. Booked through East Midlands Trains from Sheffield. It was £6 there and £12 back each for JPT and much the same for Play-Off Final. If we hadn't made either Final it was a day out sight seeing with Laura. Won't be going if we get there this time because I'm skint. Also I'm not that confident this time round either. Still a question mark over quality and mentality for me.
No, If we get there, I'll be driving down. The idea of being on a train home full of Wednesday fans if we have just lost to them is horrifying. I guess it wouldn't be pleasant if we had just beat them either. I'd want to be on the tube back to Stanmore, back in the car and on the M1 before they have finished celebrating. And vice versa if we had won, I'd want them long gone before we got out.
It's hard this year as I detest all the other teams in the shake up barring Plymouth. Hand on heart don't think we'll have the problem of a Play-Off Final. Hope I'm wrong but for me I have the same feeling I did when we played Swansea. There's a malaise. Can't put my finger on it. Got this feeling we won our Cup Final v Sheff Wed.
Maybe keep the MASSIVE thoughts in-check til we actually get there unless the thread was named Has anyone gambled and bought their cheeper train tickets for Wembley yet ?
I agree. It's like those threads handing us the points v Morecambe, Accrington Exeter, Burton and Lincoln away.
Drive to Stanford for me, then tube it in. Got hotel booked for the Saturday, free cancellation innit.
It will be a nightmare, all train tickets , buses and accommodation within a 50 mile radius of London will have been reserved by Fowls fans. Driving down expect to hit Wembley congestion just passed Meadow Hall from the massives ravelling on the day!
Unbelievable. I bought my wife and daughter tickets to Strictly Live in Birmingham with the idea that they'd take the train while I went to any potential playoff game. Looks like I'll be fcking taxiing them.
How much is the Wembley Premier Inn atm for two nights from day before until day after the final. Asking for a friend
