According to this. https://www.footballgroundmap.com/n...023&cmid=a08f955f-e2e5-4fcb-8208-6c45222d5d60 What a shame that a village side will be playing 10 miles away from their long-time home in Nailsworth. No chance of our visiting the New Lawn again then. That's like closing Oakwell and moving to somewhere next to M1 close to Wakefield. I don't think many would stand for that. Wooden stadium? How do they pass the safety checks for that?
Yeah, all environmentally friendly apart from the fact that it's in a business park just off a motorway! Siting it within walking distance of a railway station would be a minimum requirement for me for something like this. Really lets it down in terms of 'green' credentials, regardless of anything else.
I agree. transport links are fundamental to any new build. But at the mo the present ground is not exactly the best for that either. Closest station Stroud. If coming from the north side.(Worse still from any other direction) Then half hr by bus. And don't forget that bloody hill. Has to be the hardest walk of any ground from the nearest pub in the village. 1 mile all uphill. Vertically.
BETTER AND GREENER TRANSPORT LINKS Situated at Junction 13 of the M5 on the A419 in Gloucestershire, Eco Park will be a lot easier to get to than The New Lawn. Landscaped parkland will provide parking for 1,700 cars with ample charging facilities. There will be good walking, cycling and public transport access, with FGR planning to subsidise match day buses from Nailsworth, Stroud, Stonehouse and Cam and Dursley train station.
Nothing intrinsically unsafe about wood as a construction material. Providing they use appropriate mitigations for potential fire hazard of course.
