In the sense that West Ham have scored? We used to keep plenty of clean sheets, but now we've only had one in our last half a dozen and there would be pub teams who wouldn't have conceded against Morecambe.
I thought that but after a thread on it the other week I'm back to holding a grudge against Arsenal for stealing our place in Division 1. Mainly because I know a Arsenal fan at work and I've been winding him up on the subject.
If anyone needs any more reason to hope arsenal bottle it again, just remember that Piers Morgan is an Arsenal fan.
Very good point. But the counterbalance is that Manchester City have further skewed the already uneven playing field in English football in the most obscene way imaginable. I genuinely hope that everything goes completely tits up for them in a big way. Not sure how, but it'll be fcking brilliant if it does happen.
Surely its unfair to fully blame man City on that. Jack Walker at Blackburn in 95 and obviously Chelsea under Abramovic bought all their success and massively skewered money in football long long before City ever did
They did for sure, but City have taken it to a whole new level. Their hoovering up of all the young talent also doesn't sit well, although I know Chelsea are also at it.
Real conundrum for me the Man City thing. On one hand I like it when they fail to win things due to the amount of money they throw at it. But on the other unlike a lot(if not most) they have also spent significant money on the Manchester area developing and improving it, granted mainly for football reasons but at least when the owners get bored there will be a lasting legacy for the area.
Arsenal have blown it now. No excuse for throwing 2-0 leads away in consecutive matches in their position. Reminds me of Newcastle in 95/96. Although I do think Man City have had the far easier run-in.
Funnily enough Man City had a 14 point lead over Liverpool last season & only hung on to win by 1 point so blew a bigger lead than Newcastle
