    I requested Ghost Town on hospital radio when I was in there on one of the two times when I was about 10-11 (even back then I was in and out of hospital!). I loved the song, still do. My request the other time was Tom Hark, but that was a Reds thing. Obviously, at aged 10-11, the political aspect went over my head (just as the message of Too Much Too Young did!), I just thought they were great, exciting songs.

    1983 was the first year I remember really taking notice of the music around me. It was also the first year we had a cassette recorder, so I remember sitting there recording the Top 40 on a Sunday, aged 4/5. There were some superb Number 1 singles that year. Billie Jean by Wacko Jacko, Let's Dance by Bowie and Every Breath You Take by The Police were the standouts, and I still enjoy listening to Down Under by Men At Work occasionally.

    There were some other cracking hits that year that didn't quite make it to the top of the charts.
