    A bit different from earlier in the season when we were featuring goals from the u-15's to bulk the selection out. :D.
    Hmmm, Cadden, Cadden, or Kitching.

    I went for Kitching, for the quality shown by Tedic, Watters and Thomas to set it up and for Kitching's lung bursting sprint and awareness to sort his feet out and smack it in. Also the sheer joy it produced and the fact that every single Reds fan would have been quite happy to see the ball thumped into row Z or taken to the corner flag.

    Went for Tedic in the end, great goal like all the others, but meant more in the context of the game as it got the 3 points.

    Went for Cadden vs Portsmouth. Absolute screamer.

    Kitching's was my favourite though.

    Goal A, by Cadden, is the best goal, but the goal of the month…season even…for me is Liam Kitching’s goal. We’ll still be speaking about that goal in 20 years time, more for the significance than the 75 yard run to get on the end of the pass.

    There’s two types of memorable goals. On one side there’s Barnard’s against Huddersfield, McCourt’s against Boro, Howard’s against Cardiff and so on. Outstanding moments of skill. But on the other side there are the goals with significance. Howard’s at Anfield, Aylott’s Against Man City, Winnall’s second against Walsall and, of course, Marcelle’s goal against Bradford. That’s not to say they can’t be skillful too, but Howard and Aylott’s goals clinched us memorable giantkilling victories, Marcelle’s…well, I don’t need to explain, whereas Winnall’s second, to put us 3 up, and coming so soon after his first, was confirmation, so early on in the tie that nothing was stopping us going to Wembley. I still maintain that in 46 years of watching the Reds, that was the noisiest the Ponty has ever been. It was fabulous!

    And goals that win local derbies(…derbys?…no, I’ll stick with derbies, even though it doesn’t look right!), or that put the cherry on the cake, or snatch late equalisers fall firmly in the second category. Glavin’s late winner at Hillsborough, Savile’s last gasp winner at Bramall Lane, Banger’s hat-trick sealing volley at Rotherham, Hourihane’s free kick against Leeds, MacDonald’s equaliser against Wednesday and now Kitching’s lungbusting run, deft finish, and even having the foresight to somersault over the keeper to avoid getting clattered, will always mean far more to Reds fans than just how good the goals were.

    So I’ve voted for Kitching (sorry Nicky, your strike against Pompey was fantastic and ordinarily would have had my vote)
