“Unprecedented demand across the stadium” The massive coming? Sounds a little tin pot that, we’ve had a lot bigger attendances than we will have Tuesday.
I wonder how many are still available to buy across our two and a half sides. Not many of you would have thought last summer when we still had Conman and Lee that we'd have had the crowd we are going to.
Yep you are right. But in context in modern times eg all seater in league 1. The highest has been 19.5k. v wendy 2005. (Of which at least 6k would have been wendy. I can't remember if they had half the west stand which would raise that to around 8k ) so around 11/13 k barnsley max. Would be impossible to beat that with present restrictions and closures. Given the ponty and east stand disabled and corporate as near as damn it full. 12.5k. we are well on target to beat the Derby figure for home fans. Which btw is our fourth highest attendance ever in our all seater in league 1. Only beaten by Wendy. Sunderland and blunts. All with no restrictions in the away end. At the time. The club may not explain it well. But as I say it's probably in context. Days are gone when we would get 15k home fans on a regular basis in the 80s.
East Stand holds 7.5k and Ponty 4.5k I believe? Add in 2k or so in West Stand and that makes 14k home fans. Great effort for a live Sky game. Just need to stuff em now….
West stand has quite a few available and East stand can't sell bottom corner, so be more like 13k home fans
13k home fans would be good for a Tuesday night on sky. Said in another thread this time last season I had a season ticket and the football schopp and the p.e teacher served up was so bad I stopped going and even using my paid ticket.
Yet again showing that the west stand isn't fit for purpose and needs replacing. It has limited our capacity for the game because people don't want to sit in it.
Put the west stand out of misery. Only being able to have people in half the stand looks awful and costs the club cash when we could have sold them extra seats.
Why is East stand lower block 7 unavailable for tickets when we had fans of both home and away teams sharing the north stand recently with no issuea?
Police advice I reckon. Bit of hostilities and handbags. Those (non season ticket holders) that like that sort of thing would obviously go to that section. (Which reminds me, The incident at ipswich has to be one of the funniest I've ever seen. Wonder if the culprit who tried to single handedly take on our lot will turn up when we play em at our place lol) If we manage to sell out all other areas. (And sales in the west stand look to have picked up). I guess they would/may discuss with all parties the possibilities of opening part of it. They only needed a couple of days to sort out the Portsmouth game.
They always seem abit reluctant in Derby games I remember about 10 years ago with Wendy's when some bother happened in corner and flares were thrown about... then at the 5.30 kick off against Leeds bother happened in that corner. Not surprising there reluctance to sell tickets there.
