He’s a lad whose first fight was 5 years ago, never fought at an amateur level coming through the ranks and never fought an actual boxer before tonight. Tommy Fury jumped up celebrating and crying like he’d just beat Mike Tyson, it wasn’t a good look and a good example of how to lose while winning.
If you get knocked down early in a round and then get up and absolutely batter the opponent and all but knock him down. Do you still lose that round 10-8?? Not saying fury got up and battered Paul in this fight btw
I’m sure the judges can score a round 9-8 in that situation but I imagine it would have to be very convincing.
Easy win for Fury. He dealt with all the pressure really well. Now he has to decide if he wants to make loads of cash continuing to face media personalities, or far less cash fighting better fighters in the hope he can move up the rankings and one day try and be a world champion.
there isn't an advisor in boxing for me, that should be advising fury to go down the pro route. he's just earned more being tickled for 8 rounds, than he would in the next 10 years going the pro route. and he'll make same again in a rematch. i get Jake Paul's angle completely. very clever businessman. it's a vanity project, which he's making shed loads of money from. then he'll walk straight into promoting and whatever other venture he fancies. makes total sense for him. but this just is not competitive boxing, by any serious definition.
I’m not sure you can demean boxing, it already demeans itself with endless competing belts, dodgy judges and promoters really decided the dance they all dance let’s be honest. And don’t get me started on MMA, that’s even worse. I actually enjoyed the fight for what it was- entertainment. There you go, the undercard fight was a great fight as well.
Go on twitter… apparently Jake Paul was robbed… I despair of this alternate reality that apparently people can live in.
Let's be clear Tommy ISNT a boxer, he's a reality TV star who happens to have a older brother who's really good at boxing.
I think we all know that the ultimate would be sweet brown versus Antoine Dodson. Sweet brown would knock him out in the first round, she isn't going the whole 12 rounds. Ain't nobody got time for that. Obviously it could be a bit feisty so you better hide yo kids, hide yo wife.
