Don’t worry, Rishi and co will definitely, certainly and without hesitation look to tax them fairly like they will Shell and BP.

No doubt in my mind. It’s just what a fair thinking government would do in such a situation.

    Not British gas. Centrica.
Apparently they aren't allowed to sell gas to British gas cheaper than they sell to the rest of the market. Something to do with competition law.

It's ok, prices will be doubling in April so they can continue to skin us alive after the winter's over.

Gotta say I don’t understand why the answer to this is more taxes.
Making them pay more taxes won’t help the people struggling, surely the answer is to find a way to make them reduce the costs so we all benefit.

We're not on mains gas. We only have two propane bottles for our cooker and they last a couple of years.
Our heating is oil and the price of that varies day by day so sometimes it can fall and we buy some, or it shoots up and we don't. I suppose we are a bit more in control, unless we are on the point of running out, and can play the market accordingly. Mains gas is now a fixed price, isn't it?
