While I was waiting yesterday - due to a pile up that closed the motorway - some joker came speeding past on the hard shoulder, to get off the slip road. He had his hazards on though…as he was undertaking everyone on the hard shoulder at about 70 mph :)

Makes me smile when traffic is moving slower than normal due to congestion. Some mad b'std. Lane hopping at above the speed limit. Only to pass em when they get stuck in a lane.
Same in local traffic pass/overtake at 100mph only to be be held up at the lights miles away 1 car in front.
But on a serious note. They want locking up. An accident waiting to happen.

Least he had his hazards on though. Hazard lights in an situation makes the driver exempt.

People definitely drive too close - but the issue is that if you leave a reasonable gap there's nearly always someone going to cut into it, if you keep dropping back you'd end up stopping.

Yeah they do, happens to me constantly. Northbound was blocked again this morning by an accident.
