After having a scout on Instagram tonight I saw a post by Michael Soulbauer, I clicked on his page and looked at his posts from his time At oakwell and he posted a video from when we stopped up at Brentford…….I can still remember the game like it was yesterday, a stood up in the living room nearly the whole second half like I was stood on a terrace with lads!! When that goal went I genuinely didn’t know what to do Chrystal knows what neighbors thought, it’s safe to say if I’d have been there I’d have been on top of that pile of players……..whilst we’ve won more significant games in my lifetime a think how we beat the drop, the strange times we were enduring and how the team had lifted probably all Barnsley fans spirits at the time wins it for me………a must’ve watched that winning goal 100’s of times and still think he’s Guna miss it or linesman’s going to stick flag up Anyhow, what’s yours?
One of the best moments in recent times for me was being in the away end at Fleetwood that Thursday night for the JPT semi-final 2nd leg, that Hammill penalty…. I knew after that night we were onto something big that season. A midfield of Isgrove, Brownhill, Hourihane and Hammill… wow oh wow.
Clint's goal v Bradford - such a relief when it went in. Probably celebrated Colgan's penalty save at Cardiff just as much. So much pressure in that game
There’s a lot to choose from. One of many times that I have gone ar3e over tits down a few rows in front was when Nardiello scored that free kick against Swansea in play off final. Went absolutely mental! And obviously again when we won the pen shootout
This. I was there. It was right in front of me. I watched the ball come across onto his foot like it was all in slow motion. And then before I knew it, it was in the net. I remember a sort of time delay like no one could believe it.
I was only 11 for Clint’s goal so was still in my early days as a Barnsley fan, my old man had a tear in his eye a know that much………even know when the ball hits the net it still gets me.
I was there. I walked down the east stand like in a dream when an old bloke grabbed me by the arm. "Did tha iver think tha'd ever see it in thi lifetime?" There was a tear in his eye. Mine as well.
Winnall’s 2nd goal in the Walsall playoff match in 2016. I think others have mentioned that goal too when this has been discussed before. There have been much bigger goals in the past of course but there was just something quite hypnotic about that goal and the way it was celebrated!!
I was in Malta at the time. One morning I woke up with a terrible pain in my foot. Couldn't work it out. Mrs Statis said it could be something to do with taking a phone call from a mate the night before about a 'Nardellio' and then falling down the stairs.
In my lifetime nothing comes close to Clint’s goal. Some fantastic goals and great celebrations, notables Brian Howard/ Ashley Ward at Anfield, Scott Jones v United, Hammill Wembley (take your pick which one) so many great memories that will stay with me until the day I die.
Possibly mine too. I was there for Marcelle's goal against Bradford but I'd been so keyed up and wracked with nerves all game that goal had as much relief as ecstasy about it. Winnall's second was the culmination of a goal, a near miss and the almost certainty of winning the tie with his second all in the space of about three minutes.
Clint’s goal v Bradford is the obvious one and any against the Fowls for me lol. A couple of others that spring to mind are Nardiello’s clincher in the play offs at Huddersfield and Brian Howard’s winner at Anfield.
