Midweek in January Barnsley @ Exeter 518 mile round trip for fans Portsmouth @ Fleetwood 569 mile round trip for fans Morecambe @ Ipswich 580 mile round trip for fans Disgusting
It's ridiculous You ought to know by now that no consideration whatsoever is given to the fans when fixtures are arranged!
They do it on purpose. For a 500 plus mile round trip on Saturday you might get 500 fans, on a Tuesday 250. Difference 250 For a 200 mile round trip on a Saturday you might get 2000 fans on a Tuesday 1000. Difference 1000 Clubs make more money doing it this way.
In all fairness Ours was originally scheduled for a Saturday and there arent any Saturdays free that can be used once it was postponed I suspect the others are the same but am not quite so sure
Good point I had overlooked that fact, however try telling the fans that at 3 o’clock tomorrow morning when they are still on the coach.
Thats a different issue - calling a game off at 5pm is a joke - it should have been called off last night or at worst by lunchtime today. Its not as if the weather has done something unexpected
In all fairness if Fog suddenly descends like it did at Oxford on Saturday thats a valid excuse for a late postponement. Same if you suddenly get a big dump of snow. But a frozen pitch - no thats just really poor to leave it that late
Not sure I understand your logic. How do they make more money with less fans there. Edit: Just realised you're comparing long distance Tuesday.night fixtures. More economical to have the longest distance than a short, medium distance.i get it now.
