In the past I've used this path to get to the ground. It's on the right as you walk up the slope from the industrial units and follows the line of the old canal.
I cannot remember how far you have to walk before turning up the hill to the ground. It may be a long way round but its just a suggestion.
Obviously one for a Saturday game in daylight cos in the dark and/or wet it won't be pleasant and you'd need a torch.
    I'll try it out.

Not a bad alternative when the weather is dry, wouldn’t attempt it in current conditions however.

There’s no reason the club can’t remove part of the fence that blocks the footpath next to the gates down Beevor Court.

I've wondered for years what went through their minds when they installed those gates in the first place and didn't have a pedestrian gate in place.

You walk on as far as the old junction lock then climb up to the left if you carried on you would pass the only stretch of canal in water and come out bottom of harborough hill

Yes. I used to park at Monk Bretton and walk across the bridge and past the old lock.
A bit tricky in the dark and wet.
It might however be a good alternative to arsing around on Pontefract Road.
