So we’ve rescheduled on a midweek when we’ve got a game on the previous Sunday and a game on the following Saturday? Words fail me.

It must be hard for clubs keep having to fit postponed games in between weekend games, can't see what else they can do.

I would suggest not playing it after a Sunday fixture so we get an extra days rest. Which is pretty much every other midweek for the rest of the season.

It works the same for both teams and I'm sure if the clubs could avoid these quick turnarounds they would but i know what you mean its not ideal.

It isn’t. And Oxford play on the Saturday before rather than the Sunday which hands them an advantage.

Think there are guidelines that clubs have to follow from the league about re-arranging for the first feasible date after postponement bearing in mind availability of emergency services etc, so I'm not sure there's all that much an individual club can do to set a date that would better suit it's schedule.

I believe an exception was made in relation to the QE2 bereavement postponements and BFC and Pompey kept open the option of using an FA Cup Saturday, ultimately stymied by our progression in that tournament.

So, of all the fixture date changes we've had this season the only one I think it is right and justifiable to be fully critical of our club about is the Peterborough one.

With the Oxford game we now have 5 games in 15 days at a pivotal point in the season which just makes it even more important that we have brought in some extra first-teamers by mid-January at the latest.

At least given that we're at Pompey on the following Saturday they can all stop round at the Duffs in Cheltenham for a couple of days before journeying on to the South Coast :D

I wonder if the team will stop down south after the Oxford game bearing in mind we play Portsmouth away on the Saturday

Would imagine so. No point getting up north in the early hours of Thursday, to head back south on Friday to a team hotel. I suspect this is why it got arranged for when it did and not the day before.

There was a school of thought that the postponement suited them at the time due to numerous injuries in their squad.
