    Totally agree.
Though they did say that he used to be a top level player in Poland. Folk have been saying for years that ex players would make the best refs and this guy is proving that to be the case.

Wouldn’t have said brilliant but he has been a lot better than some in the later stages

Has failed to punish some horrible tackles, yet books Giroud for querying a decision on the bench. Booked neither of those giving away penalties. Does not apply the laws of the game. Consistent though.

Giving a penalty away is not an automatic booking.

It is when you pull a player down from behind

Correct. Depends on the offence. But not automatic. As was inferred.

There are examples of this not being the case as well. Ex Chesterfield player Steve Baines was an awful Ref for one.

A yellow card is insufficient punishment for some of those cynical.fouls that stop swift counter attacks. Such things warrant a sin bin or a red card

I've been a big advocate of ex-players as top refs for ages. granted, you'll still end up with bad uns, but I still think they would generally be a $hit load better than some ex-teacher with a god complex
