More away followings means more money for our own club to spend. Our own fans also make far more noise when there is a decent away following to make an atmosphere.
Don't go quoting Aubrey 'Boycie' from Only fools lol. Or I will quote Granville Trotter to you and say "Ponty you plonker!!."
Very comfortable, but not very exciting. But hey ho, we are way higher than i thought we would be so hats off to Duff
Sorry, wasn’t having a go. Hope you didn’t think I was. I’ve just seen enough to realise managers are every bit as ambitious as players are. If Duff hasn’t moved much, my own view is it’s because bigger offers haven’t come in. That’s not a criticism of Duff. I hope you’re right, I just don’t think you are. Heckingbottom knocked that outta me I’m afraid.
Its been great to see Dev Cole show a lot more effort, and get more goals this season. But it shows we're still desperately short up front, and for me Jimmy Norwood has been a disappointment.
I think Norwood is a good league one player. Not one who should be starting for a side pushing promotion, but worthy squad player. Exactly how he performed when he came on and scored against the Massives
I was giving Cole the benefit of the doubt having scored twice today. He's on track for 15 league goals which would be a great return, particularly if he had a 20 goal striker alongside him.
It's whether the money is available to keep hold of everyone which is my worry. I think we're pinning all of our hopes on Styles being sold. If the board are having to foot another shortfall to get us to the end of the season, I can honestly see Andersen being moved on of there's interest, which would be a devastating loss, as I feel we've nobody quite ready to replace him currently in the squad.
There is a general lift in the home crowd when the away end has 2000+ in making a noise. Yesterday was flat, and part of that was down to Burton only bringing 170 fans and not making any noise. It's not the only contributing factor to our flat atmosphere, but I genuinely think our fans are a little more vocal when there's a decent away following.
Agree. He’s doing better than I thought as from what I read I expected to spend half the season on the treatment table. It’s a good job he’s barely missed a game with the injuries to Tedic & Thomas.
I do not think I am being "doom and gloom"y. Our board need only wave a contract in front of our head coach and say "honour it." How many times have we seen this? It used to be only players that we sold, now we let good coaches go if the price in right. It happens at other clubs of our size. This is being realistic.
