I think he’s doing incredibly well and has all the potential in the world. He’s going to be some player but to claim he’s so much better than Gazza was and to such an extent to compare him to Jasper Moon is bonkers.

He might end up a better player than Gascoigne but he isn’t yet. If Gazza hadn’t have stupidly injured himself he would have been the best midfielder of a generation, before it he was insanely good and still young enough to have got even better.

The thing with Gazza though was that he was at the top of his game for about an 18 month period until he tried to wallop John Charles in May 91.

Then he was a shadow of his former self due to off the field issues - albeit he was still very, very good.

He didn't want to leave Tottenham. It was purely financial that move. I reckon if he was staying at Spurs he wouldn't have been so reckless in that cup Final. It was his last game and he was too eager to impress.

Think he is better than PG at the same age TBF.
PG had only just started playing for Newcastle at similar age.

For what it’s worth, my opinion on JB is that he is better than Steven Gerrard was at 19 and Steven Gerrard was the most similar player we have had to him in the England side since France 98. Whilst he has some of Gaza’s flair I wouldn’t compare them, as Bellingham for me, has a much more rounded game.
Italia 90 was my first World Cup I remember and I don’t remember us having a central midfielder in an England shirt who has looked like he can run even sections of the game like Bellingham has done so far this World Cup.

I think we're missing a David Platt, Scholes or Gascoigne. Bellingham is more a box to box player. Carlton Palmer with skill.

Jamie Carragher must read this site.

Bellingham could surpass Gazza to become world superstar, says Jamie Carragher

Former England player Jamie Carragher has joined the chorus of admirers by saying he could surpass football legend Paul Gascoigne, who as a 23-year-old lit up the 1990 World Cup in Italy.

Writing in The Telegraph, Carragher said: "Like Owen and Rooney, Bellingham has established himself in the England team as a fearless teenager, his goals, and assists one of the key reasons Gareth Southgate has led his side to another quarter-final in relative comfort.

"The echoes of Gazza 32 years ago are unavoidable. With every performance in this tournament, Bellingham has oozed the same confidence, transforming the team and catching the public imagination.

"But with all due respect to Gazza, what is exciting is Bellingham has the potential to go way beyond him and achieve what no England midfielder has done since 1966 – to become a world superstar on the basis of his achievements for both club and country."
